This will be the first of many posts to the page “Defender Diaries” making up the restoration chronicle of Nige’s Land Rover.
I wish we were trying to be funny here but after the gentlest of touch parking incidents involving a tyre against a kerb we managed to sweep all of this up. We had a good laugh until we realised that each one of these pans of “metal” that fell off the Defender was actually devaluing the project… in a scrapyard weighbridge train of thought!
We tried not to go down this road as it wouldn’t help us over the mental hurdle of what lay ahead. This phase of any project can be very demoralising as the initial assessments pre purchase become deflating discoveries once the donor vehicle goes under the microscope! Time for tea…
